In the heart of Bali, where ancient myths and modern visions intertwine, lies Taman Bhagawan, a place where legends and history converge.
The land on which Taman Bhagawan stands today was once part of a collection of islets known as Nusa Dua and Terora. According to Balinese legend, these islets were united through the efforts of the mighty general Kebo Iwa, whose strength and loyalty to Bali were unmatched.
As the story goes, when Kebo Iwa learned that the people of southern Bali faced difficulties accessing the rest of the island, he took matters into his own hands. With two colossal scoops of earth from the areas now known as Kutuh and Sawangan, he attempted to connect the islets of Tanjung Benoa.
- His first attempt resulted in the creation of Nusa Dua
- His second formed Terora—the very land on which Taman Bhagawan now flourishes.
But Taman Bhagawan is more than just the product of ancient legends; it is also the realization of a modern vision.
Conceived in 2008 and completed in 2010, Taman Bhagawan was brought to life through the creativity and dedication of Pak Frans Bambang Siswanto. Guided by his deep love for Bali and its cultural heritage, Pak Frans envisioned a space where the island’s natural beauty and architectural traditions could be celebrated and preserved.
Drawing inspiration from the rich history of Bali, Pak Frans meticulously crafted the estate, blending traditional Javanese joglos with serene gardens and modern amenities.
Every detail of Taman Bhagawan was thoughtfully designed to honor Bali’s past while offering a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors. The grand Joglo pavilions, the lush gardens, and the cultural elements embedded throughout the estate reflect Pak Frans’ commitment to creating a space that would stand the test of time.
Though Pak Frans sadly passed away in 2019, his legacy lives on through Taman Bhagawan, which remains in the care of his family.

Taman Bhagawan
stands as a testament to both the mythological past and Pak Frans’ visionary efforts. It is a place where history, culture, and nature come together, offering a magical setting for those who seek to create their own stories in this timeless space.
